Mayor of Greater Manchester since 2017, Andy’s priorities include building a London-style integrated transport system, ending rough sleeping and transforming Greater Manchester into one of the greenest city regions in Europe, making it a great place to grow up, get on, and grow old. MP for Leigh from 2001-17, he held Ministerial positions at the Home Office, Health, Treasury and Culture, Media and Sport. In opposition, Andy held Shadow Secretary posts for Education, Health and the Home Office. Andy lives in Leigh, Greater Manchester with his wife and three children.
