In Conversation With... Archie Macpherson

Macpherson's 50+ year career in broadcasting and writing shows few signs of abating.

A former teacher who rose to prominence at BBC Scotland in the late 1960s, becoming one of Britain's most recognisable football presenters and commentators. Macpherson has worked for the BBC (with whom he had a noted fallout), Eurosport, STV, Radio Clyde and BBC Radio Scotland among others.

He is an expert on Jock Stein, whose work he covered as a journalist and whom he got to know behind the scenes with Celtic and Scotland. Macpherson’s knowledge of Scottish football is scarcely matched.
